Events in Malaga

3 Wise Men (January)

This annual tradition is similar to Sinterklaas in the Netherlands and Saint Nicholas in Germany. Have you been good this past year? Then maybe you will receive a gift from the Tres Reyes Magos (Three Wise Men).

Carnival (February/March)

If you go to Malaga during Carnival, you have to check out the parade. This is definitely a highlight for the city. The parade is much more elegant than any in Switzerland. The costumes and carts are beautifully and colorfully decorated, and are a sight to behold.

Semana Santa (March)

Semana Santa is the holy week before Easter. This week is known for its processions, and the suffering of Christ is commemorated. You will be incredibly impressed by this spectacle.

The Feast of Malaga (August)

The Feast of Malaga. During this week in August, the traditional Spanish costumes are pulled out of the closet. The women are dressed in colourful flamenco dresses and men in a suit with a hat. It's a week of performances and a giant funfair in the centre.

There are many festivals throughout the year in Malaga. Go to one of the many squares and ask the locals what to do at night!
