In 2015 Germanwings was carried on by Eurowings which is also a subsidiary of the Lufthansa enterprise. Eurowings is a German airline company whose commercial headquarters are in Düsseldorf. The company operates in the airports of Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Köln.

The history of the airline

In 1993 Eurowings was born as a result of the merger of "Nürnberger Flugdienst" (NFD) and "Reise- und Industrieflug" (RFG). In 2004, Lufthansa invested 49% in the airline and in 2011 Eurowings was eventually taken entirely by Lufthansa. Since the end of 2015, flights that are conducted by Germanwings or Eurowings are sold under the same brand name.
